We Were Liars || Review || Spoiler Free

Image
Hello everyone! Here is my review for We Were Liars written by E. Lockhart. I think the best way to go into this book is when you don't know what it is about. And if I should give you synopsis about this book I'm scared that I maybe spoil you. So here is the (very vague) blurb on the back of the book: A beautiful and distinguished family. A private island. A brilliant, damaged girl; a passionate, political boy. A group of four friends—the Liars—whose friendship turns destructive. A revolution. An accident. A secret. Lies upon lies. True love. The truth. This review has NO spoilers in it, so everyone can read it :) Before I started reading this book I already had heard a lot of things about it. Mostly positive, but there were also some people disappointed by this book. The reviews from positive people were mostly talking about the end and how shocking it was. All this made me have NO expectations for everything that would come before the end. ...

World After || Review || Spoiler Free

Image
Hello everyone! Here is my review of World After. World After is the second book in the 'Penryn and the End of Days' series written by Susan Ee. (There are only two books out, but this series will become 5 books) If you want more information about World After, you can click HERE for the goodreads page! There will be no spoilers in this review for World After, but there will be some Angelfall spoilers. So you can only read this review if you already have read Angelfall (or both Angelfall and World After) World After is a fast paced, action packed and very funny book! I enjoyed this one as much as I enjoyed Angelfall, and I enjoyed Angelfall a lot! This series is already in my top 5 favorite series and there are only two of the five books published. The plot is really dark and mysterious. There happens so much in this book that it's hard to sum all my thought up. This book is really creepy (not horror! just creepy) I loved that. Like Penryn's sister.. I lo...

Eleanor & Park || Review || Spoiler Free

Image
Hello Everyone Last week I read the book Eleanor & Park. A cute and sad book about two misfits falling in love. It's written by well known author Rainbow Rowell (also author of Fangirl, Attachments and Landline) Click HERE for the goodreads page of Eleanor & Park to find more information about the book This book in, in one word, beautiful! Lets starts with Rainbow Rowell's writing style. It's so gorgeous and so unique! The way she discribe the feelings of the characters is so wonderful. Quote from the book: "Eleanor never looked nice. She looked like art and art wasn't supposed to look nice" The characters are very special to me. I really could relate to them. They felt so real to me and I cared about them a lot while I was reading the book. (and I still think and care about them)  A lot of people say that they find Eleanor annoying. But I thought she was a very realistic and wonderful character. If I was in a situation like hers...

Daughter of Smoke & Bone || Review || Spoiler Free

Image
Hello everyone! Here is my review of Daughter of Smoke & Bone. If you want more information about the book you can click HERE to go to the goodreads page. But i think it's better to go in this book without knowing what it is about ;) This review has NO spoilers in it! So everyone can read it :) Daughter of Smoke & Bone is a very unique book. I've never read a book like this. This book is (mostly) set in Prague, which, I personally think, is very interesting. When this book starts you think that it's about a ordinary girl who lives there, but very soon in the books you start to find out that not everything is as 'ordinary' as you thought. This is pretty much everything you need to know about the story. Because it's a lot of fun to find out what actually is going on. Laini Taylor's writing style is gorgeous! The way she introduces you to all the fantasy aspects in this book, the way she describe things and just the way she set up this w...

Angelfall || Review || Spoiler Free

Image
Hello everyone! I've read Angelfall a couple weeks ago and I'd wanted to write a review about it. So here it is! This book is written by Susan Ee. If you want to know what it is about you can click HERE so you can go to the goodreads page of the book. This review is without spoilers! I think Angelfall is in my top 3 favorites books of this year, so far. And this book has my favorite female lead EVER in it! It's SO good! Before I started reading it I thought it would be scary and over dramatic with evil angels. But it turned out to be Scary, dark, action packed, fast paced and hilarious (with evil angels BUT also some good angels.. sort of..)! The main characters are so funny! Penryn, the main character, is so funny. Even when the most scary things are happening she can make hilarious jokes about the situation! Than you have sarcastic Raffe (I LOVE HIM) He is also very funny. But Penryn and Raffe together ... there you got me! I was laughing out loud so much! R...

Book Haul || May

Image
Hello everyone and welcome to my May book haul!  I bought seven books and one novella.  First I'd bought: Dromendochter by Laini Taylor. This is the dutch version of Daughter of Some & Bone . I've already read it and I love it so much! It's High fantasy, but this kind of books are more fun to go in when you know nothing about the story.  Then I'd bought used coppies of the Gemma Doyle trilogy by Libba Bray. The books are still in very good shape except for the last one who has a broken spine. The books in this trilogy are: A Great and Terrible Beauty Rebel Angels the Sweet Far Thing I don't know to much about this series, I've heard some good things about it. I also know that it is a historical fiction with some fantasy or gosth aspects.. The story takes place in London in the end of 1800  (like Sherlock Holmes and The Infernal Devices) So that only makes me more interested in these series! I also bought a box-set which include...

Champion || Review || Spoiler Free

Image
Hello everyone! Here is my review about Champion. The third and final book in the Legend trilogy. Written by Marie Lu. Click HERE for the Goodreads page of Champion with more information about the book. There will be NO spoilers about was will happen, but I'm going to talk about my feelings towards this book. You may not want to read this review when you're that person who is going to guess what is going to happen when you read how I felt about it. At first I want to say that I love this trilogy. Marie Lu has created an amazing dystopian world. She thought everything thought so well. I love we get to know so much about this world. You get to know what's going on over the whole world, not just the places where the story takes place. At the beginning of this book, you'll find a map of the world. It was so interesting to see what happened to the rest of the world. I think that is something that we miss in a lot of dystopian books. Like, in the Hunger Games you o...

Prodigy || Review || Spoiler Free

Image
Hello everyone! Today I'm going to review Prodigy. Prodigy is the second book in the Legend trilogy by Marie Lu. For the people who didn't know, Legend is a Dystopian trilogy. I'd also reviewed Legend, the first book, and you can click HERE if you want to read the review. This review has absolutely no spoilers, not for Prodigy, but there are also no spoilers for the first book Legend. This will be a short review because.. I just can't describe my feelings towards this book. Lets just begin with that I loved this book so much! There was so many action and drama and I can't even say how much I love this book. First of all, this book has the most amazing actions scenes EVER! I wish this book was becoming a movie.. I couldn't put this book down.  I still love the characters, June is so kick-ass and Day is so amazing (AND CUTE). The relation between them is so intresting. The one thing I didn't like that much were the love triangles. I thi...

Image
Bout of books has comes to an end.  Challenges I've completed: Read more than 600 pages Update everyday Finish at least two books and start a third one I've read 609 pages this read-a-thon which I'm very proud of because I had a buzzy week and I was sick a lot.  I've Finished Champion  Read 45 pages of City of lost souls (this was because I needed a break from Champion because of all the emotional stuff) And I've read half of Angelfall . I was a lot of fun to do this read-a-thon and I hope to do it again sometime! :)

Paper Towns || Review

Image
Hello everyone. Last week (before the read-a-thon) I've read Paper Towns and I decided to write a short review about it. So here it is!! Paper Towns is a book by John green. If you haven't read it and you want to know what it is about, you can click HERE to go the goodreads page of the book! Before I started reading I already had high expectations of the book. The reason for this was that John Green wrote it. I love John Green, he is one of my favorite authors in the world! This book didn't disappoint me at all! This book was very funny! Mostly because of the character Ben. He is a friend of Quentin. Almost every part with Ben I was laughing out loud. I really liked the characters in this book. I love that John Green can make his characters so realistic. The plot was very interesting. I wanted to know what was going to happen next all the time. There were , as always in John Green books, some poetic parts. I really loved them because they make me think a lo...

Bout of Books Updated

Image
Hello everyone! Here I will give updates everyday. Goals: Read 2 books and started the 3 one. Read more than 600 pages. Update everyday Currently reading: Angelfall by Susan Ee Total pages I've read:  609 Monday : I started the book Champion today. I hadn't had a lot of time to read today. I had a long school day and some other things to do after school. So I'm very proud that I've read 136 pages ! That is 37% of the book. This means I'm doing good with read-more-than-600-pages goal! Tuesday : I feel ashamed to say that I've only read 49 pages . I was really sick, I was home the whole day but because of my illness I couldn't read much. That was really frustrating.  I'm still reading Champion , but I hope I'll finish it Wednesday night or Thursday morning. Wednesday : Today i've read a total of 150 pages , witch I'm very proud of.  I've read 90 pages of Champion , but champion made me very sad sometimes so I decid...

Legend || Review || Spoiler Free

Image
Hello everyone. Last week I started reading the Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu. Here is my Review of the first book: Legend. If you want more information about the book you can click  here  to go to the Goodreads page of the book. There you can read what the book is about. There will be no spoilers in this review! Lets just begin with saying that this is a fantastic book! It's so fast paced. I've read it in two days. This book has everything I need in a good dystopian book. A lot of action, great world building, an interesting romance story and kick-ass characters. This story has two point of views. A boy and a girl. Letst start with June, the girl. She is amazing! She is so kick-ass and so smart. Sometimes she gave me Sherlock Holmes feelings. I love her, I think she might be one of my favorite female book characters ever. Than we have Day, de boy. I really love Day. He is also very kick-ass but also very sweet in some way. He cares so much about the people he love...

Half Bad || Book Review || Spoiler Free

Image
Half Bad follows a boy named Nathan, and Nathan lives in a world where good witches (white) and bad witches (black) exist. Only.. Nathan is a bit differed from the rest.. he is Half black, Half white. His fathers (black) is the most evil witch out there and his mother is dead. The government don’t know what to do with Nathan, so they put him in a cage.  Sorry if my synopsis of the books is a little bit confusing but i’s hard to explain what this story is about. This book was intense! Half Bad is an amazing story, beautifully written and very strong characters. I love this book and how unique it is! In the very beginning of the story, it is written in a second person. Nathan is constantly saying ‘you’ like: ‘you’re lying on the ground’. I thought it was a really weird but interesting at the same time. It is a good way to introduce you to the situation. But after a few pages it turns into a first person writing. I was glad that happened bec...

Hello everyone, I'm going to join the Bout of Books read-a-thon This read-a-thon starts on May 12th and ends on May 18th. The books i'm planning on reading: Angelfall: 283 pages Daughter of smoke and bone: 418 pages Champion: 369 Pages I don't think I'll finish all the books.  I'll start with champion and after I finished Champion I'll read Angelfall. Than after Angelfall I'll start Daughter of Smoke and Bone, I hope I'll get a halfway through it. So my plan is to Finish Champion and Angelfall. And than get halfway through Daughter of Smoke an...
