For Nora is right in the middle of a centuries-old battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and sooner or later, she's going to have to pick sides...
I actually wasn't planning on reading this book, I had heard so many mixed things that I had completely lost interest in this book. But yesterday I had a really bad headache which made it hard for me to read. So I decided to listen to an audio book for the first time. Since I wasn't planning on putting my energy in reading this book, I decided I maybe should give it a shot as an audio book, so that's what I did.
I ended up quite enjoying this book, but I also had some problems.

Let's start with the characters;
I didn't like most of the characters. Most of them were just meh for me.
Our main character Nora had her good and her bad times. I liked that she wasn't completely stupid. She picked up on clues quite well and didn't made extremely stupid decisions. What I really didn't like about her was that she kept saying the same things in her head over and over again. She kept saying how frightened she was and how wrong things were and that than 3 times in a row. She kept repeating it constantly and it was just very annoying if you ask me.
What I also didn't like about her is the way she was instantly attracted to Patch. I mean, she thought he was stalking her and even out on killing her. She always felt really uncomfortable around him and she felt very unsafe, still she couldn't resist thinking how it would be kissing him. That's unhealthy! This really bothered me in the beginning.
I did like how they relationship grew throughout the story though.
Then we have Patch. In the beginning I really didn't like him. I couldn't understand why everyone is so in love with him. He made me feel super uncomfortable. Though, when we got further into the story, I grew to like him more. He's not one of my favorite male leads, definitely not, but I like him now and he is probably my favorite character in this book.
And then we have Vee, the most annoying and frustrating side-character ever. I hated her so much! I couldn't understand why she and Nora were best friends. Vee was so annoying and full of stupid decisions. I was really disappointed that she didn't get killed off in the end.

The plot in this book was an interesting one. I really loved how creepy it was. I definitely felt frightened sometimes whilst listening to this book. The fact that someone was playing with Nora's mind and making her see things that weren't there was really scary. I felt like I could never trust what was happening.
What I didn't like though, was that I felt like this book had me too long in confusion. I was just waiting for some things to be revealed but it took so long to even get one of thousand answers. This made it feel that at some points the plot was dragging.
Even though I felt this book left me in confusion for too long, I did like the mystery aspect. I could guess quite a lot, but this book had me always question my guesses. And even when I guessed who was doing thing, I could never guess why
So the mystery aspect was definitely something I liked in this book.

I also want to say that this book would make a really good movie or TV show! It's scary, exciting, a lot of 'visual' stuff happens and I think that what when you cut out some of Nora's thought processes, this book would immediately be a lot better. So, as a movie or TV show, this book would probably do really well!

So, even though I did have some problems with this book, I am tempted to pick up the next one.
