Favorites of 2014

So, this year was a big reading year for me, compared to all my other years.
I have read a total of 40 books this year.
The majority of the books that I've read this year, I have read in the first half of the year. The second half of of the year I got in a huge reading slump. This was also because of that school got a whole lot more busy after the summer vacation. I am actually kinda sad about that, because in the month September, October and November I haven't read any books.
Still I'm really happy with 40 books because 40 books was my goodreads goal for 2014!

Because of the amount of books I have read, I want to give you my top 7 of 2014.
(I know it normally is a top 14 of 2014, but my favorites that were REALLY my favorites only got to 7 books)

#7
Legend by Marie LuThis is the fist book in an amazing dystopian trilogy.
This is probably the best dystopian book I have ever read, that's why it got in my top 7 of 2014. There was so much action and drama, it was amazing. I love how smart both the main characters were!

#6
The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan
This is the conclusion to the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.
This last book was probably my favorite of the series. I felt so connected to the characters in this book. I felt so much love en pride for them. This book made me happy and I had so much fun reading it. That's why it has the 6th place on my top 7 list.

#5
The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
This book gave me all the emotions. Before I started reading it I expected it to be a really sad story, but it actually is one of the funniest books I have ever read. Still it's also the book that probably made me cry the most out of all the books I have ever read. I think a lot of people can agree with me that this books deserves a place in my top 7 of 2014.

#4
Angelfall by Marie Lu
I never expected myself to place this book above tfios.. This book was just everything I needed. It was super action packed, fast paced and REALLY funny. It gave me a whole other look on angels and paranormal books. I love this book a lot and can't wait for the last one in the series!

#3
Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
I actually don't even know what to say about this book. Let my just explain my emotions towards this book by saying this: This book feels like your first love and your first heartbreak. First, everything is so cute, you become so happy and you become so blind for all the bad stuff. You start to believe everything can be okay, even when it really can't, then it turns dark and you feel like your first heartbreak. I have cried so hard in the end of this book. It was just beautiful and amazing!

#2
We Were Liars by E. Lockheart
This is probably the book that surprised me the most this year. I would never have thought that I would love this book as much as I do. I had very low expectations for this book, but then I fell in love with the writing style, the plot and the characters. The way the main character deals with her injuries was so real and so relatble for me at that time. That's probably the reason why it's so high in my top 7.

#1
City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare
The conclusion to my all time favorite series: The Mortal Instruments.
I have so much love for this book, and just for this whole series. This is the series that got me into reading, and to finally have a ending to this series was in one word: EMOTIONAL. This book was everything i could ask for from Cassie. I have grown such a strong love towards ALL the characters. This book, this series, will for always make me happy and make me feel all the emotions. This book is amazing. I don't think I need to say more to explain why it is my #1 book of 2014 :)

So these are my favorites of 2014!
I hope to be way more active on my blog than I have been the last few months, but more about that in my 2015 resolutions!

Big love!
